You would be hard-pressed to find a local company that has accumulated more credentials than Custom Exteriors. We haven't been able to find another company that has our track record of customer satisfaction, level of expertise and product knowledge.

InstallationMasters™
The InstallationMasters™ Training and Certification Program is an important and exciting tool that Custom Exteriors requires of all of our crew chiefs who supervise our installers of windows and doors. The program is specifically designed to help installers provide consumers with numerous benefits including
Avoidable callbacks; Improved energy efficiency; Work performed more efficiently; Maximized product benefits
Our Crew Chiefs are all required to attain certification following the completion of the two-day program and successful passing of the test allows participants to earn the InstallationMasters™ Identification Card, which shows they are officially certified through the InstallationMasters™ Program.
AAMA Certified
The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) is made up of window, door, skylight, curtain wall and storefront manufacturers, suppliers and test labs.
These large and small companies represent both residential and commercial applications.
So why does it matter?
- The AAMA Certification Label provides confidence that the products you choose, when installed properly, match the quality of the sample product tested.

Our Ranking
Customers that we get from Angie's List are some of the most informed consumers that we serve. They are also the most vocal when they take the time to write reviews of our work. At last count, we are the most positive reviewed Window, Door, Stucco, Stone, Roofing and Window Covering in the Bay Area and in the Country. Attention to detail and great value are the things that are most important to them. Nearly 65% of our customers come from referrals with another 20% of new business coming from our existing clients on a monthly basis.

The number one complaint that consumers have is with a Contractor. Whether it's not doing the required work or, worse yet, finish it within the budget and time frame discussed. Customer satrisfaction is our primary concern which means everythign we do stands up to the highest standards. We hope that we are always the contractor that is warded the work. But if we're not, no one should hire a contractor without doing research. So many companies "borrow" licenses from other contractors in order to perfrom work. This site will tell you if the license is held by the company or an officer of the company.
The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) protects consumers by licensing and regulating California's construction industry. There are more than 310,000 licensed contractors in the state, in 43 different licensing classifications. In addition to educating consumers about contractors and construction law, CSLB activities include administering examinations to test prospective licensees, issuing licenses, investigating complaints against licensed and unlicensed contractors, issuing citations, suspending or revoking licenses, and seeking administrative, criminal, and civil sanctions against violators. In FY 2007/08 CSLB obtained more than $35.2 million in ordered restitution for consumers.
The CSLB's Statewide Investigative Fraud Team (SWIFT) works to eliminate unlicensed contractors working in California. Undercover sting and sweep operations are conducted weekly around the state.

Companies must score Highest in Quality in customer satisfaction, a 90+ on a 100 scale, and pass all of our credential-based ratings. By requiring such a high score to qualify, we cut out mediocre and poorly performing companies.
Companies are Held Accountable
We conduct ongoing research and ratings. Companies must keep up their high performance. If they don't, they are removed from Diamond Certified.
We never allow a Diamond Certified company to sit on its reputation. Each must do their best to satisfy you, the customer.

Custom Exteriors has over 13,000 customers since 1997. Our BBB rating is A+! While our record is nearly flawless here in the Bay Area, we have only 4 issues with customers all of which were settled amicably and to the customers complete satisfaction. We always advise consumers to check all BBB chapters where a company has offices.
You will be surprised the number of companies that will highlight one area but fail to tell you about another where there are muliple resolved and unresolved complaints. This little bit of research will help with your decision on who who can or can't trust. Others like to "borrow" from our success but none come close to our level of complete customer satisfaction.
